Stay active at home

I know it is boring to sit at home all day with nothing to do, so I made a list of things to do during the long days at home, and I also added some links to other sites with the same ideas.

  • Make up a game
  • Play video games
  • Design and build a fort
  • Have a Nerf war
  • See how many books you can read in 1 week
  • Learn a new language on Duolingo
  • Work on merit badges at home: Try to contact your counselor and take pictures of what you did or click here to take an online course.

You can find some more ideas here.

Ski Trip 2020

This weekend the troop went skiing! We had a lot of fun while riding ski lifts and hitting the slopes. It was postponed twice, but it was worth the wait. Fortunately, no bones were broken. One thing that surprised many scouts was that there was snow. This was an overall good trip and we expect to do it again next year.

Court of Honor

On December 18, 2019, we had our last court of honor of the decade. We were very busy recieving ranks, singing carols, and, of course, pigging out on popcorn, pizza, BBQ chicken, BBQ-popcorn-flavored-pizza, and lots of other delicious fare. There were many merit badges and ranks recieved, including one eagle palm. We also absorbed the members of Troop 151. The banquet went well from the opening ceremony, to us welcoming new members, and finally singing Silent Night as a group.

Members of Troop 242B and 242G gathered on Saturday, November 9th at the Tabb Library to help Julian put in fences.

Here is a note from Julian:

Thank you for coming out on this chilly Saturday. I learned today that there can be issues when doing a project and that to always have options / solutions.

Thanks to the adult leadership with all the advice given to me this morning! I’ve got the engine running and I’ll be at the finish line with this project soon!

Aviation Merit Badge

This saturday, the troop went to an airfield to complete our Aviation Merit Badge. We did alot of activities including trying on gear, steering planes (on the ground, of course), andlearning about the parts of planes. The best part was that at the end, we got to ride a helicopter! We all got our badges, and we were proud to present them at the Court of Honor.
